Jets beat wild 4-2 on saturday
The Winnipeg Jets have moved to within two points of the Colorado Avalanche with a 4-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Saturday afternoon.
Facing off for the fourth and final time against Minnesota, the Jets took care of business once again, moving to 4-0-0 on the year against their nearest geographical rival.
Vladislav Namestnikov had three points (1 goal, 2 assists), Alex Iafallo had two assists, and linemate Morgan Barron had the insurance goal for Winnipeg, as the Jets' bottom line led the charge on Saturday.
Kyle Connor also did score for Winnipeg, moving to 31 goals on the season, as the Jets pulled to 100 points on the year.
Their 47-24-6 record is third in the Central Division, trailing just Dallas' 48-20-9 stat line as well as Colorado's similar 48-23-6 record.
With six games to go and valuable home-ice advantage on the line, the Jets will look to keep their current three-game winning streak rolling as they move on face three more divisional rivals over the next week. With the three remaining road games being Nashville, Dallas and Colorado, Winnipeg will not have the luxury of taking even a shift off, as all three opponents are well-positioned to make lengthy postseason runs.
The Jets' hopeful playoff run will likely go through two of the teams as well.
Next up is a test against the Predators on Tuesday night at 7:00 PM, before facing the Stars on Thursday evening - also at 7:00. Winnipeg concludes its road schedule in Colorado on Saturday afternoon with a 3:00 PM tilt. The Jets will then return home to take on the Seattle Kraken and Vancouver Canucks in their final two games of the season.
