Jets whip Ducks on strong performances from Toffoli and Brossoit
RECAP:
The Winnipeg Jets relied on some strong goaltending and an offensive explosion on Friday night, as they beat down the visiting Anaheim Ducks to pull into a tie for first place in the NHL's Central Division.
The Jets improved to 42-19-5 on the season and have 89 points through 66 games.
Newcomer Tyler Toffoli scored his first two goals wearing the polar night blue, as he helped his new teammates pour on another four goals in the final frame, adding to their two goals over the game's first 40 minutes of play.
Kyle Connor and Nate Schmidt got things going off the bat, before it was Toffoli who picked up two in the third period, to go alongside strikes from Dylan DeMelo and Mason Appleton to round out the scoring.
Brossoit earned his second-consecutive shutout of the season, while seeing his goals against average drop to under 2.00 on the year.

Winnipeg is now on the road for five games, with tests in Columbus, New York, New Jersey, Long Island and Washington, before returning home in 11 days for a game against Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers. The Jets' next seven games can all be viewed live on TSN.
