Jets Fall to rival leafs 6-4
RECAP:
The Winnipeg Jets are no longer without a loss.
On Monday night from Canada Life Centre, the Jets saw their season-opening, eight-game winning streak come to an end. And it happened in dramatic fashion.
The visiting Toronto Maple Leafs exploded for four-straight goals to open the scoring, before the Jets were able to even find one.
John Tavares had a hat trick for the visitors, who picked up their sixth-straight win over Winnipeg.
Kyle Connor had two goals and four points on the night, while Josh Morrissey had three helpers.
Connor Hellebuyck was not sharp, allowing five goals on 35 shots against. The defence pair of Neal Pionk and Dylan Samberg were a combined -9 on the night.
Winnipeg will look to right the ship on Wednesday in Detroit.

QUOTEABLE:
Scott Arniel on Winnipeg's slow start:
"It was throughout. Whether it was our ready to go, ready to compete, ready to get into it, I don't have an answer for you. Toronto was a heck of a lot better than we were. They wanted it. They came in here and gave us a punch right in the nose in the first two periods. It was a little late when we responded, but it's not good enough. We didn't come out the way we wanted to come out."
Kyle Connor on the Jets' near comeback:
“Well, we got it down to one, and we were pressuring there. There’s no quit in this room. We wanted to come out and push and show some good work ethic there in the third and see what happens.”
WHAT’S NEXT:
The Winnipeg Jets will now hit the road for two games against the Eastern Conference, with stops in Detroit and Columbus on Wednesday and Friday. They will look to start a new winning streak at 6:30 on Wednesday in the hometown of Kyle Connor and Connor Hellebuyck, before heading further east to Ohio in a 6:00 PM central start time on Friday.
