Jets hang on for 4-3 overtime win sunday
RECAP:
The Winnipeg Jets pulled ahead early, before giving up back-to-back goals and nearly falling to the 28th-ranked Arizona Coyotes on Sunday. But for the 14,324 gathered at Canada Life Centre, an extra 33 seconds of hockey was needed before the home club got the win.
And for the second-straight game, the hero was the team's leading goal scorer, Kyle Connor.
After wining the game for Winnipeg on Friday night in Chicago, Connor scored twice on Sunday, including the overtime tally, improving his statistics to 23 markers on the year.
Connor Hellebuyck turned aside 29 of the 32 shots he faced, while the Jets' top line of Mark Scheifele, Gabe Vilardi and Connor combined for eight points. Josh Morrissey also chipped in with three helpers on the night.
Winnipeg scored two power play markers again for the fourth time in its last five games.
Hellebuyck picked up his 28th win of the year, which has him tied for third league-wide.

QUOTABLE:
Mark Scheifele on Josh Morrissey's three-assist game:
“He’s just been fantastic. He’s making a lot of great plays. He’s great in the D-zone, he cuts things off quick and gets it going the other way. A lot of unheralded plays that he’s making from his own end that not a lot people will see. He’s making a lot of great plays all over the ice.”
Mark Scheifele on Morrissey's bank pass off the end-boards that led to his game-opening goal:
“We kind of made eye contact a little bit, so I think he kind of knew. I don’t know if he knew that it was going to work out that well, but obviously a very, very cagey play by him.”
WHAT’S NEXT:
The Winnipeg Jets remain at home for a Tuesday night tilt with the visiting St. Louis Blues. That game marks the end of the two-game homestand, before Winnipeg sets out on the road for three games against Dallas, Carolina and Buffalo starting on Thursday.
