Jets Fall to Predators at Home
RECAP:
The Winnipeg Jets fell to 41-19-5 thanks to a lopsided loss against the visiting Nashville Predators on Wednesday.
Coming off a thrilling 3-0 shutout performance from Connor Hellebuyck on Monday night, the Jets came out sluggish on Wednesday, falling behind 2-0 in the first period, before giving up another two goals in the early stages of the third.
The Jets did manage to get two goals back in garbage time, but it really didn't matter as the damage had been done.
A back and forth set of nightly efforts has fans, players and coaches slightly caught off guard. Things began well with a shutout performance from Laurent Brossoit over Seattle last week, before the Jets were shut out on the road in Vancouver. Connor Hellebuyck then bounced back for a shutout of his own over the visiting Washington Capitals on Monday.
And then this.
In terms of his message postgame, Jets head coach Rick Bowness told media postgame that there wasn't a message; he didn't enter the dressing room after the game, allowing the players to talk amongst themselves.
Sometimes no message is the best message.
For the sake of Winnipeg's playoff push, Jets fans certainly hope the veteran bench boss is onto something.
Next up is the final game of the homestand, as the Anaheim Ducks swing into town on Friday night.

QUOTABLE:
Alex Iafallo on the Predators:
“It just felt like they were on us, making plays, just finding good connections and making passes across the ice like that. Next time we play them we’ve got to make sure that we’re crisper and taking away stuff in the middle.”
Rick Bowness on his team's loss:
"Give them credit. They played a great game. They came at us. We know that. We talked about it before the game. They've had points in 12 straight games so we knew what to expect."
WHAT’S NEXT:
The Jets play one more time at home this Friday (Anaheim Ducks) before heading out on the road for a five-game trip through the Eastern Conference. Winnipeg continues its wildly busy stretch of games through the month, before finally getting a two-day break in the beginning of April. The Jets continue to suit up in game action every second day through March 30.
