The current holder of the Steve “Boomer” Hawrysh Award as the Manitoba Junior Hockey League’s Most Valuable Player, Lucas Brennan led the MJHL in scoring in 2022-23 with 41 goals and 84 points in 53 games. A Winnipegger, who played a year with the U14 Warriors and then a season at Churchill High School before playing for the Winnipeg Bruins and Interlake Lightning U18 teams in 2019-20 and 2020-21, he joined the Steelers as a 17-year-old in 2021 and has developed into one of the best players in Canadian Jr. A hockey. He will play with the Cedar Rapids Roughriders of the USHL this season and is committed to play at NCAA D-1 Bemidji State University in 2024-25.
