The Professional Women's Hockey League will host its PWHL 3-on-3 Showcase during the National Hockey League's All-Star Thursday. With the league announcing an extension to the weekend event to include more activities for fans and players involved, a new aspect, to which the top women making up the PWHL will get a chance to show off their skills in a best-on-best format in Toronto.

Taking place on February 1 from Scotiabank Arena, two teams of 12 women will face off against one another in a three-on-three format, with rosters including 10 skaters and two goaltenders.

The teams will be named in honour of Billie Jean King and Ilana Kloss, who have served as female advocates for women and equality in sport for the better part of recent memory. They will be coached by Cassie Campbell and Meghan Duggan and consist of players from each of the six PWHL teams.

Of the players chosen, 17 were free agent signings, while the seven others were selected in the inaugural PWHL draft this fall, including each of the six players taken in the first round.
