ABOUT ME I grew up in Wampum, Man., and I’m a member of Birdtail Sioux Dakota Nation. The closest hospital for me was Roseau, Minn., so that’s where I was born. I’m a dual citizen. I started skating in my backyard with my dad when I was two-years-old. I played all my youth hockey in Warroad, Minn., about 30 minutes from Wampum. I played high school hockey in Warroad and then, when I was 17, I went to Boston to play for the Shamrocks in the Junior Women’s Hockey League. I spent my senior year of high school in 2017-18 in Boston while doing schooling online with Warroad High School. I played an extra year in the JWHL when I was 19 and then after two seasons on scholarship playing with the University of Calgary Dinos, I decided to play my final two seasons with the University of Manitoba.
LAST HIGHLIGHT I was the Manitoba Aboriginal Sport & Recreation Council’s female volunteer of the year for 2022 and was just recently elected youth chief of the Southern Chiefs’ Organization.
THE FUTURE ME I was going to play hockey again next season, but then I was accepted by Robson Hall Faculty of Law at the University of Manitoba, so I’ll put all my energy into law school and one day, become a lawyer.
