John Lu, the longtime bureau chief of the Montreal Canadiens, has hosted the final Habs game of his career with TSN.
Just two days after unveiling former TSN Radio 690 Montreal commentator Dan Robertson as the new voice of Jets on TSN, Winnipeg has swooped up another decorated on-air personality and reporter from Quebec. This time, however, it is one of its own in Winnipeg product John Lu.

A 22-year veteran of Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens' daily beat, Lu will be transitioning west to Winnipeg for the 2022-23 season to serve as TSN's bureau chief, the primary correspondent responsible for reporting on both the Jets and the Blue Bombers.
That role was previously held by Sara Orlesky for the past 11 seasons since the Jets returned to Manitoba. She moved on to accept a job as the senior host and producer with True North as a part of the content team over the offseason. Although still expected to make appearances on Jets on TSN, Orlesky's main contributions will come for WinnipegJets.com and Jets TV.

Lu, a graduate of Red River College's creative communications program, will step into the role that Orlesky had previously owned, serving as the host for Jets regional broadcasts on TSN, while providing interviews and story content on off-days and non-TSN scheduled game days.
Lu's colleague, Bryan Mudryk - the English-speaking voice of Habs on TSN - broke the news via Twitter before the Canadiens/Devils broadcast on TSN on Monday night.

“I’m going to miss this guy," Mudryk shared. "Massive part of our Habs on TSN team! So happy my guy John Lu gets to go back home to Winnipeg for the Jets gig. Much love buddy.”
Getting his start with CKY News in Winnipeg back in 2000, Lu quickly transitioned to Toronto, where he reported on the Maple Leafs for TSN. He was then shifted to Montreal and served as the bureau chief, covering the Canadiens, Alouettes and Impact. His addition to an already stacked Winnipeg sports media crew will certainly bring extra excitement to a locale that has already seen the introduction of a new play-by-play voice in Dan Robertson a few days prior.
