Remember in May when I was craving a rivalry? Remember when I talked about how easy it would be to build a resentment for certain players on the other team? Take a look at this snippet from Craving a Rivalry and see if it’s accurate…
“Hey Jets fans, how long do you think it will take to build a solid resentment for Milan Lucic or Matthew Tkachuk? No longer than a shift? I agree.”
So Jets fans, how long did it take? Not even a period.
Here is our rivalry. It’s finally here. The Jets have their backs against the wall and must win the next two games to move on even though their best players are dropping like flies.
Can Hellebuyck bounce back? Can the back-end stop the Flames’ top talent? Can the Jets’ secondary scoring continue to play the role of primary scoring?
There are so many questions, and all of them are going to be answered on Thursday night.
So, after you’ve finished watching the first round of the PGA Championship, tune into the Jets vs. Flames to find out if it’s going to be Lafreniere watch, or if the Jets will live to fight another day.
Can August get any better?
