Jets send blackhawks packing, snap losing streak with 3-1 win
RECAP:
The Winnipeg Jets have improved to 13-8-2 with a 3-1 win over the visiting Chicago Blackhawks from Canada Life Centre on Saturday afternoon.
The Connor Bedard show was on full display, as the flashing 18-year-old made his first stop in Winnipeg in what is expected to be a long and prosperous NHL career.
He scored the game opener for his 11th of the season just 4:39 into the contest. But after 20 minutes of play it was 1-1, as Mark Scheifele tied things up on a power play strike off a nifty Gabe Vilardi move in the offensive zone.
Morgan Barron scored his fourth of the season in the middle frame, putting the finishing touches on a perfect Nikolaj Ehlers breakaway pass.
Cole Perfetti got his career-high ninth goal of the year to close out the third, putting the Jets ahead 3-1, which gave Winnipeg its 13th win of the season, and stopped its losing streak at three games.
The Jets conclude their homestand with a test against the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday, before hitting the road for a lengthy trip out west.
